Saturday Nov 09, 2019
Recognizing that the meditation and practices FCM offers to students are in support of their personal transformation, Dharma teacher Fred Eppsteiner begins most sessions at weekly Sangha and Days of Mindfulness answering students' questions about their Dharma practice and the integration of that practice into their lives. The many Q&A recordings here consist of questions that Fred is asked during Dharma talks and his responses. In some cases, the audio of the questions has been replaced with a brief silence as typically it is not audible. Fred repeats the question before he answers it.

Selfless Service (2015)
Saturday Nov 09, 2019
Saturday Nov 09, 2019
In this talk to students of FCM, Fred teaches that true happiness is grounded in the practice of "selfless service," through the realization and actualization in our lives of serving others rather than our tendency to serve ourselves. Selfless service is more than volunteering, or "giving back," in that we realize that we inter-are with everything in this world. From that perspective we feel the pain of all others and want to remediate it because we realize that we are not separate from others or their suffering. Living from this view makes selfless service a joy rather than a chore.
